YGA Mentor Application

Please complete the application below to be considered for one of our Youth Governors Association (YGA) Mentor positions during the 2022 YMCA Youth Governors Conference in Washington, D.C. from June 12-17, 2022.

This is a one-time opportunity available to 2021-2022 YGA Members who were unable to take part in the 2021 Youth Governors Conference that was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mentor Fee: $500 (Includes all Lodging, Meals, and Registration/Materials) - does not include travel to and from DC
  • Applicants must receive the approval of their respective Youth & Government State Director
  • Mentors will be subject to the same rules/regulations and Code of Conduct as other youth participants
  • Mentors will have the opportunity to facilitate/lead workshops, trainings and discussions throughout the week, but will also be asked to perform tasks and assignments in support of our adult staff and chaperones.
Application Deadline: March 18, 2022

Please note: Y-USA will require attendees to abide by all COVID-19 protocols set by local/state health officials and respective event venues at the time the conference.

Why do you want to serve as a YGA Mentor at this year's Youth Governors Conference, and why do you believe you would be a good mentor for the members of next year's Youth Governors Association? (250-500 words)

If selected as a YGA Mentor, I agree to attend the YMCA Youth Governors Conference from June 12-17, 2022, and participate in any pre-conference planning/preparation as requested by conference staff and leadership.
