Carrie Chapman Catt Award Sign-up Form

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate has introduced the Carrie Chapman Catt Award to recognize high schools across the state for their commitment to registering students to vote. Iowan Carrie Chapman Catt was a national leader in the women's suffrage movement and helped secure the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution.

High Schools that register at least 90% of their eligible students (all seniors who are US citizens and at least 17 years old) will receive this distinguished award. Schools registering at least 50% of eligible students will receive statewide recognition and commendation.

Please complete the form below to sign-up your school for the award.

The YMCA Youth and Government program will provide training and support as you work to reach your goal, and your school will receive an Inspire2Vote Action Kit with materials and pledge cards you'll need to track your progress.

IMPORTANT: Please contact your administration to ensure this number is accurate, as it will be used to determine when your school has reached the 90% mark to receive the Catt Award. Adjustments can be made later to accommodate for seniors at your school who are not eligible to register (not age 17 or not US citizens).

If your school represents more than one county, we'll help you ensure you submit any paper registration forms to the correct county auditors.

Select ALL of the counties represented at your school.
School Principal Information
We will include your principal on the email confirming that you have signed-up your school for the Catt Award.

Finally, remember to register your school (students and teachers/admin welcome!) for the Iowa Youth Voter Summit on Sunday, October 20th at the Wellmark YMCA in Des Moines:
